  3. Why can't I change my screen name?

As people join the website, we set-up a basic account for them, and as they start using the site, looking at member profiles, adding them to favourites etc, they leave a footprint on these other member profiles.

If a member deletes their account, we still have bits of information about them stored, so that you don't end up with blank entries in your account.

If you really want to change your name, we can do this, but it's a fairly big undertaking, especially if you've been a member for a while — so there would be a modest charge for doing this. If you want to know more, please contact us.

The free alternative, however, is to set up another account with the name you wish to use, and then you can manually re-enter the information you wish to save from your old account into it.  However, if you do this, you'll lose your favourites, hotlist links etc.

  4. What's the status of my membership?

Anything that you need to know urgently about your account will be displayed on your member overview page.

However, some information that might be of use, or just of general interest, is stored on your basic details page.

  5. How do I close my MatchMkr account?

If you wish to close down your MatchMkr account, go to your 'basic details' page, and click on the 'Delete Account' option.

We'll be sad to see you go, but also hope that MatchMkr achieved the purpose for which you joined it.
