  2. Where do I go to see e-mails that have been sent to me?

By default, whenever you receive a new e-mail, you'll get an e-mail alert sent to your personal e-mail address (the one you entered when signing up) to let you know that you have new, unread mail waiting for you.  The alert contains an address you can click on to take you directly to your inbox.

E-mail alerts are not sent, however, if you're logged into MatchMkr at the time you receive the e-mail.

Whenever you have new, unread mail, you'll see a flashing counter in the menu bar after the word 'Messages', and the link to your inbox will show how many new messages are waiting for you.

  3. Can I delete messages from my inbox/outbox?

Yes you can, simply click on the bin icon at the far right, and the message will be deleted immediately.  Please note, once it's deleted, there's no way to get it back, so only use this option when you're sure you're ready to delete the message.

  4. Someone sent me their personal e-mail address/telephone number, and I can't see it — why?

To protect our members from opportunistic use of the site, we automatically remove all e-mail addresses and telephone numbers from messages being sent from one member to another.

However, once you and another member have communicated on-site via three or more e-mails each, telephone numbers will be displayed.

This helps to prevent other members from wasting your time.

  5. Why can't I e-mail a member?

There are a couple of reasons for why you might not be able to e-mail a member on MatchMkr — you've not yet joined MatchMkr (click here to join free) or the member has blocked you from send him/her any more e-mails.

  6. Can I forward e-mails I receive to another account?

No. To preserve the anonymity of our members, we don't allow you to forward your on-site e-mails to anyone.

  7. An e-mail in my inbox is highlighted in red, why?

This indicates that the e-mail you've received is from one of the site administrators.  It may contain vital information about your account — so it's important that you do read them!

  8. How can I block a member from sending me more e-mails?

Simply visit the member's profile, and click the "Block" button on the right-hand side of the page.

This will prevent the member from being able to send you e-mails or winks/flirts, or from finding you in their search results.  As far as they are concerned, you cease to exist on the site.  However, this does not block them from contacting you via the Instant Messenger or chatrooms — where you need to block them separately.

  9. How can I unblock a member from sending me more e-mails?

If you've had a change of heart, simply visit the member's profile, and click the "Unblock" button on the right-hand side of the page.

This will allow the member to send you e-mails or winks/flirts, and to see your profile in their search results. However, this does not unblock them from contacting you via the Instant Messenger or chatrooms — where you need to unblock them separately.
